Congress on establishment of Rao An Agro-Ecological Enterprise

• On August 5, 2015 a congress on establishment of Rao An Agro-Ecological Enterprise was held at Human Ecological Practical Area (HEPA) in Son Kim I commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province, chaired by enterprise’s Founding Board. The enterprise consists of 19 members.
  
  Present at the congress were representatives from Huong Son district’s agencies and branches; district Office of Finance and Planning; Cau Treo International Border Gate Army Station; authorities, branches and socio-economic organizations of Son Kim I commune; key farmers from Quang Binh province; Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Son Tay commune; Son Kim commune’s Environmental Cooperative; Huong Son district’s Tax Department and Viet – Bac Ninh Herbal Company.      
  
  The congress opened with Enterprise’s rules and business plan presented by Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, a member of the Founding Board, followed by a session of opinion contribution.  Most of the participant’s opinions and comments focused on how to develop the enterprise in line with philosophy and achievements gained by HEPA over the years.  
  
  Finally, the congress also elected key positions for the enterprise. Accordingly, Mr. Tran Quoc Viet has been elected as Chairman of Management Board and Director. Members of the Management Board are Ms. Nguyen Minh Phuong, Mr. Pham Minh Loc, Mr. Loc Van Vin and Mr. Hoang Van Duoc. Mr. Nguyen Khac Thu has been elected as supervisor.
  
  Rao An Agro-Ecological Enterprise is a pilot model of community-based social enterprise towards economic self-reliance, responsible and sustainable use and management of natural resources for socio-ecological security which is facilitated by Mekong Community Networking for Ecological Trading (MECO-ECOTRA) and Livelihood Sovereignty Alliance (LISO), period 2005 – 2005 – 2025.
